PERMANENT VACATION

A Remix is a piece of media which has been altered from its original state by adding, removing or changing pieces of the item.

Upcycling is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless or unwanted products into new materials of products which have higher quality in terms of its artistic or environmental value. This may also be called creative reuse.

As a fashion brand, we are fully aware that fashion produces a significant amount of fabric waste. That, we cannot avoid. Two months ago we recycled nearly 40kgs of pre and post-consumers fabric waste. But we saved some pieces that are still in good condition and kept it as a keepsake.

After a long contemplation, followed by a significant amount of time in planning and calculating the cause, we decided to release a REMIX collection that consists of a range of products we consider as a keepsake.

Each of the products are available in a super limited quantity due to the availability of the raw materials (we only use scraps that we kept as a keepsake) and the complexity of the production process itself (patchworking ain’t easy, baby) since we did everything in-house for this collection. No manufacturers were involved. The reason why we’re doing this is because by making all these in the comfort of our own studio, we’re also able to reduce our carbon footprint.

We can proudly say that we have transformed our remaining fabric waste into a reversible detachable collar, reversible quilted jacket and a camisole dress. What started out as our keepsake, hopefully, will turn out as something that now you can treasure as a keepsake.
